JOB TITLE: PEIMS Coordinator

PRIMARY PURPOSE
Coordinate the collection and reporting of district Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) data. Coordinate the student information computer system (SIS) including the training of personnel and maintaining data integrity. Provie accurate and efficient data for district and state reporting, funding, and accountability.
QUALIFICATIONS Education:
60 Hours of College (required); bachelor’s degree (preferred).
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Two years’ experience in a support position requiring collecting and entering data.
Experience and proven success in producing accurate data and meeting deadlines.
Experience in using coding systems. Preferred experience with the Texas Student Data System (TSDS) and PEIMS data in district support position.

Factors: Administrative office environment, high pressure, fast pace, multiple deadlines, people intensive, frequent public contact, frequent out-of-district travel, extended days, and operation of a non-commercial vehicle. - Strong organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to analyze, pay attention to detail, and problem solve.
- Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize to ensure data submissions are accurate and timely met.
- Keen independent judgment in determining when to seek advice.
- Knowledge of Student Information Systems

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Oversee, maintain, and support the student information system.
- Coordinate the collection, integration, and formatting of data required for PEIMS, OCR, and TSDS Core Collection submissions according to required data standards.
- Establishes district requirements and interprets local, state, and federal requirements for student information collection.
- Work cooperatively with campus, business office, and personnel office staff to collect, organize, and format data required to submit state and federal data in a timely manner.
- Run edits, reports, and verification checks on data to ensure accuracy of information. Distributes edits and reports to appropriate lysis, verification, and correction.
- Submit complete and accurate data in Texas Education Agency (TEA)-prescribed format for PEIMS and TSDS Core Collection submissions.
- Submit complete and accurate data in Office of Civil Rights (OCR)-prescribed format for biannual OCR submission.
- Verify data submitted to TEA and OCR; submit corrections in a timely manner.
- Create reports and provide information for data analysis throughout the district.
- Coordinate and analyze the district’s discipline, and update personnel on current and new discipline codes.
- Disseminate current Attendance Accounting Handbook and serve as support for district questions concerning the district’s attendance eligibility and student account procedures.
- Coordinate audits when received as related to student information.
- Attending all regional PEIMS workshops and disseminating information to appropriate staff.
- Provide training and support to campus staff responsible for student’s information system data.
- Receive TSDS-related information from ESC and TEA and disseminate it to other staff in a timely manner.
- Attending conferences and workshops to remain current on state and federal reporting and software issues.
- Perform SIS Year-end procedures.
- Function as the SIS primary contact for updates, security, and support cases.
- Create custom fields and interface updates as needed.
- Coordinate data integration with other software programs.
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law, Commissioner’s Rules, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.
- Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
