Job Title: Food Service Specialist
Division: Food Service Cooperative
Full-time; 231 days
Pay Grade: 3
Wage/Hour Status: Non-exempt
Primary Purpose: To administer and provide support for the Food Service Cooperative.
Qualifications:
High School Graduate/GED and some advance training preferred;
Secretarial experience, public school system or ESC experience preferred;
Ability to communicate effectively;
Knowledge of bookkeeping procedures required;
Ability to develop neat, accurate written documents of all types using computers;
Ability to be flexible, dependable and a self-starter;
Basic computer skill;
Clerical skills;
Ability to train Food Service staff
Knowledge of school districts operations and policies;
Knowledge of procurement, bid development, law, regulations, codes and ethics.
Organizational, communication and interpersonal skills;
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Professional keyboarding, Word Processing and File Maintenance Knowledge of Food Service operations and regulations. Basic Web Based Software Knowledge
Knowledge of Food Service/ Procurement laws and bid management.
Major Responsibilities:
Support Food Service Coop Program
Attend training to keep abreast with program procurement laws and changes.
Administer, organize and implement electronic bids through BONFIRE and documentation for both Commodity and General Bids for the Food Service Coop.
Administer and distribute bids to vendors.
Maintain and organize the Food Coop webpage and Food Database for all Districts in Coop.
Serve as Food Service Coop vendor contact/liaison through meetings, correspondence, and trainings
Plan and facilitate all Food Shows and Tastings.
Provide technical assistance and support to districts in implantation of the Food Coop bids and district visits when requested.
Develop and maintain effective program budgets.
Facilitate and conduct Coop trainings
Work as a team member demonstrating flexibility, lending support to other projects/ programs.
Function within the policies and administrative procedures of Region 5 ESC.
Implement and Train for online Bid Software.
Inventory and order supplies and food show supplies when needed.
Administer and maintain quarterly vendor reports.
Plan and budget vendor payments and district rebates
Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A
Equipment/Specialized Software Used:
PC, Printer, Copier, Calculator, Scanner and other office machines, employee web, Adobe Acrobat, 8x8 Phone System, Time Clock, Power Point, Word, Excel, Google suites, BONFIRE, ASCENDER, and Gabbart website.

Light to Moderate Lifting,
Sitting for long periods along with working with computers for long periods of time
Regular attendance is expected and required
Maintain multiple tasks and work cooperatively with others
